# Find every app you can open in the App Library

What's new in Tray Helix · 22 October 2026 · https://helix.tray.ai/whats-new/app-library/

Tray Helix now has an App Library. Click Explore apps in the Helix header to see every live app you can open, across every workspace in your organization. That includes apps shared with you directly, with a workspace you belong to, or with the whole organization. Search by name or description, star the apps you use most, and click any app to open it in a new tab. Every member of the organization sees it, and there is nothing to set up.

**Available in:** Every Helix edition. Nothing to set up.

Until now, people shared Helix apps as links. Someone pasted a link into Slack, and getting back to it later meant digging through old messages or keeping a folder of bookmarks up to date. Builders had to remember which workspace an app lived in to find the link to share. People who use apps without building them had nowhere in Helix to go at all.

The App Library gives everyone in the organization one page for the apps they can open. An app appears there once it is live and shared with you, so nobody has to add apps or keep the list current.

## An example

A support team uses three Helix apps built by three different people: a refund approval tool, a ticket triage dashboard, and an account lookup. The refund tool is shared with the support workspace, the triage dashboard with the whole organization, and the account lookup was shared with the team lead directly. Here is how a new member of the team gets to all three on their first day.

### 1. Open the library

Click **Explore apps** in the top-right of Helix. The All apps tab lists every live app they can open, most recently created first. The refund tool and the triage dashboard are both there, one through their workspace and one through the organization.

### 2. Find what they need

Type "refund" into search, which matches app names and descriptions. With a longer list, switch from grid to list view for a denser table. Helix remembers the view they picked.

### 3. Get the missing app shared

The account lookup isn't listed, because it was shared with the team lead only. The library lists apps a person can already open, so the fix is a share: the builder shares the app with the support workspace. Within about ten seconds it appears for everyone in that workspace.

### 4. Star and open

They star the two apps they use every day, and the Favorites tab now shows just those. Favorites follow them across browsers and devices. Clicking any card opens the live app in a new tab.

## What follows from how it works

**The list follows access.** The library uses each project's access control setting, so it lists only apps a person can open. Admins see the same list as everyone else, because this is a page for using apps.

**Nothing needs keeping up to date.** An app appears when it is live and shared, and nobody curates the list.

**A click opens the live app.** It opens in a new tab, the same as following the app's link. Builders still manage the project from the dashboard.

**Favorites are personal.** Starring an app changes nothing for anyone else.

**Descriptions are how apps get found.** Search covers names and descriptions, and `helix deploy` writes an AI-generated description of each app. An accurate description is what makes an app findable.

## What to watch for

**Only live apps appear.** An app that has never deployed successfully is not listed. If you have access to the project, its Deployments tab shows what happened.

**New shares take a few seconds.** A newly shared app can take up to 10 seconds to appear. Refresh the page to see it.

**The library shows apps you can already open.** There is no request-access button. To use an app you can't see, ask the person who built it to share it with you, your workspace, or the organization.

## Questions

### Who can see the App Library?

Every member of the organization, whether they build apps or only use them. It sits under Explore apps in the top-right of Helix.

### Which apps appear in it?

Every app that has deployed successfully at least once and that you can open. That means apps shared with you directly, with a workspace you belong to, or with the whole organization.

### Do admins see every app in the organization here?

No. The App Library is a page for using apps, so admins see the apps they can open, the same as everyone else. It is the part of App Registry where people find and open apps. The other part is the record of every deployed app with its named owner. [See App Registry for more](/platform/app-registry/).

### Why can’t I see an app?

Usually one of three reasons: it hasn’t deployed successfully yet, it isn’t shared with you, or it was shared a few seconds ago and needs a refresh.

### Does starring an app change anything for other people?

No. Favorites are personal to you.
