Lesson 4 of 8 · 5 min

Build the first screen on your real accounts

Describe the renewal tracker to your assistant, get a working screen on your own Salesforce accounts, and run it on your machine.

Build it

Build the first version of the renewal tracker.

Use the "salesforce" connection to list accounts renewing in the next 90 days, soonest first: name, owner, annual contract value and renewal date. Our renewal date is Renewal_Date__c on Account, contract value is Annual_Contract_Value__c, and the CSM is the Account owner. Try the query first and show me what comes back.

Show them on one page titled "Renewals, next 90 days", with days until renewal for each.

Swap in your own field names; they vary by org. The assistant tries the query before it writes the page, so a wrong field name shows up as an error you can fix.

Run it

Run the app locally, check the endpoint works, and give me the URL.

It starts the app, calls the endpoint and reads the logs. Open the URL and you’re looking at your own accounts. Changes appear as the assistant saves them, no restart.

Make it useful

A CSM wants to know where to look first:

Highlight rows renewing in the next 30 days, add a filter by owner, and show the total contract value for whatever is filtered. Then check it and tell me what you verified.

Ask for one change at a time, then look. Ask for five at once and you won’t know which one broke the page.
